DIRTY JERM'S

Enabling life. Not selling it.

We are an independent product-design house for people who grow things.

We make thoughtful tools that solve real problems around plants, growth, and the experience of caring for living things. Nothing ornamental for ornament's sake. Nothing invented because the internet needed another product. We build when there is something worth fixing.

A little dirt is usually a sign something useful happened.

01

I. WHO WE ARE

A small company with dirt under its nails.

Dirty Jerm's began with a habit: noticing the little things that make plant care more frustrating than it needs to be, then wondering whether they could be designed better.

We are not a nursery. We are not a lifestyle brand pretending every object needs a story. We are a product company built around curiosity, function, and the belief that useful things can still have personality.

We're intentionally small. That means ideas can be tested, broken, changed, and rebuilt without a committee sanding all the character off them.

Useful first. Beautiful because it earned it.

DIRTY JERM'S / FIELD NOTE 01

We don't manufacture the growth, the root, the leaf, the climb, or the bloom. We create the conditions that help make those things possible.

— The Dirty Jerm's philosophy

That is what Enabling Life, Not Selling It. means to us. The experience belongs to the plant and the person growing it. Our job is to quietly make that experience better.

II. HOW WE WORK

Observe. Make. Break. Learn. Repeat.

Dirty Jerm's products begin with a real annoyance, not a trend forecast.

01

Observe

Pay attention to the problem as it actually happens.

02

Design

Strip the idea down until every feature has a reason to exist.

03

Build

Turn the idea into something physical enough to prove us wrong.

04

Test

Use it. Abuse it. Find the weak spots. Keep the evidence.

05

Refine

Fix what matters. Leave the unnecessary cleverness behind.

02

III. WHAT WE BELIEVE

Good design should disappear into the experience.

The best product is not the thing you spend all day admiring. It is the thing that quietly lets something else happen.

A leaf unfurls. A root finds somewhere to hold. A plant climbs instead of collapses. A frustrating routine becomes simple enough that you stop thinking about it.

That is the standard: products should earn their place by enabling something real.

Function before gimmicks.
If it doesn't make the experience better, it doesn't belong.

Evidence before ego.
A prototype is allowed to tell us our favorite idea was stupid.

Personality without nonsense.
We take the work seriously. Ourselves, slightly less so.

IV. THE FOUNDRY

Where ideas have to become real.

The Foundry is Dirty Jerm's product-development workspace: part workshop, part laboratory, part graveyard for ideas that sounded better before they existed physically.

It's where we sketch, model, print, test, document, revise, and occasionally swear at objects until they behave.

We keep the failures because they are part of the work. We keep the wins because they tell us what to do next. And we do not publish the clever parts before they are ready to leave the room.

PROTOTYPES • QUESTIONABLE DECISIONS • USEFUL DISCOVERIES

V. THE HOUSE

Built by a plant person who got tired of accepting “good enough.”

Dirty Jerm's was founded by Jeremiah Anskate, owner, designer, builder, tester, and — when appropriate — Head Cultivator.

The company grew out of equal parts plant obsession, product-design curiosity, 3D printing, and a stubborn belief that everyday problems deserve better answers than “that's just how it is.”

There is no enormous team hiding behind the curtain. Right now, the person asking the question is usually the same person sketching the answer, building the prototype, breaking it, and writing down what happened.

Build carefully. Stay curious. Make things worth making.
